Dorothy "Dottie" Louise Anderson Hayes, 53, of Vermont Ave., Asheville, died Sunday, June 22, 2014.
A native of Reidsville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Fleming Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Anderson.
Mrs. Hayes worked for Victoria Health Care Center and most recently she worked for the family business, Andy's Movie Stop.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Joe Hayes; a son, Paul J. Hayes; and brothers Andy Anderson and wife Darlene, David Anderson and wife Rita, and Charles Anderson and wife Janice.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Bridges officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.

I have known Dottie since high school and we were best friends through thick and thin and I was always with her.. I will miss her greatly myself.. I will be praying for Randy and Paul.. David, Chuck and Andy stay strong.. My god bless you in this time of sorrow.
Dottie and her Family are Special friends of mine. She was a fun friend, and always made me feel like her family. I am Praying for all of Dottie’s Family. May The Lord give you all, His Comfort and Peace in the days ahead.
I am so sad to hear of Dottie’s passing. We were good friends when we were very little and growing up in Stuart, VA. I will always remember her ‘giggle’. She was a sweet, sweet person! Prayers for her family.
