Dr. Forth Naisang

dr. forth naisang

Retired physician, Dr. Forth Naisang, passed away February 27, 2022. He was a Christ-follower, husband, father to five, grandfather to 22, and great-grandfather to three. He left a lasting legacy of faith and hope to his family and community.

Forth was the first of his family to immigrate from Myanmar to the United States in the 1950’s with the purpose of completing a medical degree. Once completed, he met and married Judy, and they settled down in the Asheville area to raise their 5 children, Judith Lynne, Robert, James, Elizabeth, and Joanna.

During his 85 years, Forth was known to share the Gospel through word and deed, ministering to people’s souls and physical needs. Passionate for the Word of God and for his people, he translated the English Bible into his Chin dialect, Zanniat, along with a book of hymns. He wanted his life to reflect the God he loved; over his lifetime, he volunteered with youth groups, served his local church, supported homeless shelters and youth camps, and founded Chin Hills Ministries with Judy for the purpose of building a seminary as well as provide continued support to students and orphanages in his native country of Myanmar.

Visitation with his family will be Thursday, March 3rd, at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road from 6-8.

His Celebration of Life service will be held at Trinity of Fairview March 4th, at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chin Hills Ministries PO Box 295, Fairview, NC 28730.

Guestbook

  1. Love to you all. Your father was a hero and a true example, and I feel fortunate to have known him. May you find peace in his legacy.

  2. I cannot imagine coming from Burma right after a world war to the United States and raising five children to love Jesus against all the temptations he never even had the chance to face. But through Christ, he raised a living example I found in his daughter, Joanna. He did not just run his race, he answered with his life and the lives of his family the one ask of Jesus before His ascension: The Great Commission.

  3. Judith, Robert, James and to all his children and family. His reputation was always known to be respected and admired. I am so sorry for your loss.

  4. The whole Naisang family makes this world a better place…Mr. Naisang was the reason. ♥️ My condolences to the whole family. Rest In Peace.

  15. Dear Naisang Family, Prayers for peace and comfort for all of you in the coming days. What a wonderful family he had and I had the privilege of working with the children of Mr. and Mrs. Naisang at AC Reynolds, all of them smart and intelligent young people and now wonderful pillars in their communities. He indeed leaves a wonderful legacy behind him with them, and with all the good work he has done with the youth, and adults that he has worked with and taught in the community, and even returning to his native country to help them have their own Bible and starting a seminary for them. He was indeed a servant of God. He will be missed by many people in many places. In my thoughts and prayers for the entire family.
    Love in Christ,
    Ethel Jacobson
