We were so sorry to here that Eddie had passed. You and Scooter will be in our prayers. We really loved Eddie and enjoyed all our outings together over the last 40+ years. God Bless!
Dear Patricia & Scooter…..
It’s always so difficult & heart breaking to lose a loved one who holds such a special place in your heart & your life. When Eddie became a part of our extended family thru his marriage to you we had the opportunity to find out what a super nice guy he was….and our opinion of him never changed. Eddie was a very friendly caring person; & lovng husband & father. We always enjoyed seeing him when the 2 of you would visit us at Mom’s on our trips to NC…& we treasure those happy times and memories. Eddie was a truly great guy & his passing brings much sadness to all who were priviledged to know him. However, Eddie has now been welcomed into the loving arms and presence of his Heavenly Father…& we bow our heads in prayer knowing he is safe at home in Heaven. May the love of family & friends bring you strength and comfort now & in the days ahead.
Aunt Pat and Scooter,
We were so sad to learn of Uncle Eddie’s passing. The short time we were blessed to spend with him, we grew to love his sweet, honest, and sunny personality. We are praying for you.
Love, Jo Lee, Kevin, Brad, Jeremy and Bethany
Dear Tricia & Scooter,
My heart is so sad with yours at the passing of your wonderful husband, father and my friend Eddie. What a very very special man. He fought a good fight. He kept the faith. He is surely at peace, perfect and with the Lord. I know he never gave up expecting miracles and he sure did leave as he lived – with love and dignity. Tricia I have loved you as long as I can remember – since we were little girls – and I pray that God will comfort you and be near to you and to Scooter thru this difficult time. It is not easy, but I know you all are strong in the Lord and are surrounded by people who love you so much. Eddie was a blessing to all who had the pleasure to know him. You all will always be in my heart, my thoughts and prayers. I love you so much, k

Dear Aut Pat and Scooter – I am so saddened to hear of Uncle Eddie’s passing. He was such a sweet man and stood by me through the times that our family was under stress from those who would seek to break it up. I truly loved and admired him, and will never forget his kindness, generosity, and no nonsense personality. He will be genuinely missed. If you need anything, or if there is anything I can do for either of you please let me know. I love you both so much! Michelle ‘Missy’ Rose

Pat & Scooter,
We are so sorry to hear of Eddies’ passing. We have been friends for many a year and know that Eddie loved his beautiful wife and a ‘great’ son. He will be missed by many.
God Bless you Pat and Scooter.
I worked with Ed a number of years at AFD. Ed was one of those folks (and characters) that provided a certain continuity to our daily efforts of service within the Asheville community. He has been thought of often over the years and will be missed. We feel your loss, yet smile with the memories he has left us holding.
I worked with Eddie at AFD for several years at station 2 and at station 3 in west Asheville.I thought alot of Eddie, he was fun to work with, and never a dull moment.Eddie was the type of person who was not selfish and would literally give you his shirt off his back if you needed it.I owed Eddie my life for he actually saved mine some years ago,I and my wife Cheri will never forget that.EO you will be sorely missed but not forgotten.
Tom Brown
I am deeply saddened to hear of Eddie’s passing. He was an original and God broke the mold after him. I loved working with Eddie at Stations 2, 3 and 5 during the 80’s and again during the mid 90’s where he was my Engineer on Ladder 3. There was never a dull moment around Eddie. He would keep you in stitches with his stories and his antics. He was one of the best natured people I have ever met because he never got mad at anyone who joked with him as he would turn around sooner or later and dish it right back to you. His everpresent Texas Pete bottle, his cup of cofee, no matter if it was fresh or not he loved it. He was someone who would give you the shirt off his back in the middle of the winter and never ask for it back. I will deeply miss Eddie and it was truly one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life to have known and worked with Eddie. He was one of the good guys and he made it so much fun to go to work.
