Edith Everette McCurry Arrowood, 86, of 6 Lilac Street, Asheville, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals.
Mrs. Arrowood was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Charles and Mae Atkins McCurry. She was married to Marcus W. Arrowood, Sr., who died in 1962.
Mrs. Arrowood worked as a salesperson at K-Mart and Roses stores and she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by three daughters, Christina Keller and her husband, Carl, of Fairview, Verona Blasingame of Asheville and Dorothea Biddix and her husband, Ronald, of Asheville; two sons, Marcus Waverly Arrowood, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Salt Lake City, UT, and Donald Nelson Arrowood and his wife, Judy, of Altoona, AL; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. James Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Avery's Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Although I only met Jr’s aunt ‘Edie’ once or twice, he would often speak of her. As he too has passed away and unable to express his condolences, I send them from myself and our children.
