Asheville - Edith M. Koch, a resident of Asheville since 1995, died Thursday, October 19, 2006. She was born in Cologne, Germany, daughter of the late Maxmillian and Rosalie Eilender. Also preceding her in death is son, Gary Oliver. Surviving is beloved husband of 46 years, Wilfried; two daughters, Melinda Hasbrook, and husband Roy, of Cleveland, Ohio and Rebecca Zangara, and husband Tom, of Chicago, Illinois; son, Michael Oliver of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Christa Garred, and husband John, of Cleveland; two brothers, Bill Eilender, and wife Carol, of Union, Kentucky, Herbert Eilender, and wife Danielle, of Houston, Texas and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Christina Hasbrook. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Her family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
