Edith Robinson Hamlin

Edith Robinson Hamlin, 82, of 99 Brickyard Rd., Asheville, died, Wednesday, January 24, 2001 in a local nursing facility. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late James Henry & Althena Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Straley Rubin Hamlin and a son Roger Hamlin. Her survivors include her children, Jim Hamlin, Pat Cooper and Ed Hamlin all of Asheville; sisters, Geneva Hamlin of Weaverville, Luna Rice of Asheville, Iva Elkins of South Carolina, Helen Tolley of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Chuck Kim, Robin, Jimmy, Chris, Illysa and Jordan; and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 Friday at the funeral home.
