Edmond J. Treadway, 61, of 116 Sunup Lane, Candler, died Sunday, February 16, 1986, in an Asheville hospital.
A native of Swain County, he was a son of James Treadaway of Whittier and the late Ida Wilson Treadaway. He was a member of Mount Moriah Wesleyan Methodist Church. Mr. Treadway was employed by Champion Papers and served in the US Navy during WW II.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Devine Treadway; a daughter, Sharon T. Hicks of Candler; two sons, Dennis P. and James E. Treadway, both of Candler; two sisters, Evelyn Blankenship and Clara Davis, both of Whittier, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Arnold Luther and Ron Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be William DeBord, Max Reed, Howard Davis, James Blankenship, Harold Blankenship, and Edwin Goodson.
