Edna Lou Barnett Hayes

Edna Lou Barnett Hayes, 59, of 26 Moon Critter Drive, Candler, died Thursday, August 23, 2007, at her home. A native of Hazard, KY, she was a daughter of Cleda Keith Davis and the late Troy Barnett and was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kenneth Hayes and step-father, Hoy Davis. She worked as a CNA for Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. In addition to her mother, survivors include two sons, Timothy Hayes and wife Tina and Dennis Hayes and wife Lorena, all of Candler; sisters, Carolyn Davis of California and Saundra Davis of Forest City; brothers, Karl Barnett of Leicester, Don Barnett of Chicago, Danny Davis of Burlington and Manuel Davis of Forest City; three grandchildren, Kaity, Kimberly and Joshua; very special friend, Roy Hensley and her beloved dog, Baby. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Room Missionary Baptist Church. Her family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm Sunday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
