Edna Christensen went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on Sunday, October 12, 2014, after suffering from cancer. She was the youngest of 7 children born to Stanley and Bertha DeLong in Presque Isle, Maine on November 22, 1929. She graduated from Presque High School in 1947. She went on to Providence Bible Institute where she met Jack Christensen. After graduating in 1953, with a BA in Christian Education, they were married and went to Indiana where Jack finished his seminary training. Then they went out as missionaries to the country of Pakistan. They labored there for more than 8 years but had to return to the United States due to Edna's poor health. Jack then pastored 2 different churches in Maine. She is survivied by her husband Jack; five adult children - David Christensen, Debbie Holt, Dorcas Bartley and Dorothy Clark; 12 grandhilcren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Galilee Baptist Church in Gorham, Maine at a later date. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
