Edna Bradley Hill of 39 Majestic Avenue, Asheville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, in an Asheville
hospital.
Mrs. Hill was born in Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Franklin Ellis and Maggie Dalton Bradley. She was also
preceded in death by her husband of
64 years, Claude M. Hill, two sisters, Mabel B. Maynor and Iretha B. Clontz and four brothers Ernest, Edgar, Emory and Dr. Earle Bradley.
She was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and Asheville Biltmore College. She was the owner of Starnes Avenue Grocery
for 18 years and retired from Ralph
Murray Plumbing Company after 22
years of service.
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where she
served in many capacities including
Director of Women’s Missionary
Union, Director of Junior Sunday
School Department, Church Clerk and
Training Union Director. Mrs. Hill was a member of Asheville Rebekah Lodge No. 37 and a member of National Association of Retired
Federal Employees.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue
chapel of Groce Funeral Home with
the Rev. Carson Moseley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home one
hour prior to the service.

I would like to express to the family my sincere and heartfelt sympathy at your loss. Edna is one of the people I have fond memories of from my childhood thro the present. My prayers are with you.
We will miss Edna very much. I’m sorry that we couldn’t be at the service. I had to work. We loved her very much.
