Edward "Bug" Atlanta Shook, 78, of Asheville, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Madison County, to the late Garland L. and Vashti Moore Shook, he was a baker at Towne House Bakery for 43 years and retired from Appalachia Stove in 2000.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Bernice Wilson Shook, and siblings Barbara Blankenship, Patricia Callendar, Georgia Riddle and Garland Shook.
Survivors include sons, Tim Shook of Asheville and Gary Shook of Fairview; brothers, Charles Shook of Amelia, VA and Donald Shook of Huntersville, NC; sister Melinda Shook of Huntersville; several nieces and nephews and special "adopted" grandchildren, Cory, Taylor, and Marissa Stockstad.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 11, at at Skyview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 581 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. A special thanks to Dr. Hicks and nurses, Connie, Mary and Sally.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the Shook family.

Sorry to learn of Mr Shook passing I thinking about the times we had cheering Tim and Eddie at the bowling alley he always saw the good in everything there Gary and Tim my prayers and thought are with both of you
