Eleanore Morath Brown

Eleanore Morath Brown, 96, of Asheville, passed away peacefully at the Givens Estates Health Center on Friday, September 30, 2016. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Elmo Leland and Mary Morath Brown. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Brown. Eleanore worked for many years at Six Associates, an engineering and architectural company in Asheville. Among her many roles there, she served as an administrative assistant to Anthony Lord, one of the company's founding members. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and nature, the library and giraffes. She also enjoyed her time working in the gift shop at Givens Estates. She is survived by one sister, Helen Brown Balcanoff of Easthampton, MA, as well as four nieces. five nephews, fourteen grand-nieces and nephews and one great-grand niece. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Calvary Churchyard in Fletcher with Tammy Bales officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the Pulliam Chapel of Givens Estates. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
