Elizabeth Merrell

Elizabeth R. Merrell, 91, died on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Greer, SC, Mrs. Merrell retired as a seamstress. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin S. Merrell, who died in 1983; her sister, Rosa Lee Durham; and by her brothers, George and Rufus Rushton. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Capps, of Asheville; sons, Sam Merrell, of Asheville, Richard Merrell, of Anderson, SC, and Larry Merrell, of Candler; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Merrell will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Emma's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, weather permitting, with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating.
