Asheville ? Ella Mae Francis Ball Butler, 81, of 25 Overlook Place in Asheville, joined her Lord on July 2, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Bryan Jennings and Annie Mabel Ball. She was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Julia Mae Pressley, and sisters, Ellen Naomi Ball Swayngim and Hazel Lewis Gasperson. Ella Mae is survived by her adoring husband of 46 years, William Franklin Butler of Asheville; son, Randy F. Butler and wife Susan; brother, Norman S. Pressley and wife Kay and a loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She retired after 34 years of dedicated service from Mills Manufacturing Company in Woodfin. She was a devoted member of Skyland First Baptist Church. Aunt Mae, as she was fondly known, will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her and whose lives she touched and blessed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Skyland First Baptist Church with the Reverends David Honeycutt and Carl Mintz officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.

  8. Dear Bill, Randy and family: My family and I were so saddened to hear of Ella Mae’s passing, but then again, she is where she needs to be, in her heavenly home. I always looked forward to seeing her at church when I got a chance to be in Asheville, and she always had a smile on her face. She was truly a blessed soul here on this earth. May God keep you in his loving arms in the difficult days ahead.

My sister-in-law Ella Mae will always be in my heart,though I know she is not in pain any more and is in a better place and I hope we all will see her again and rejoice.I will never forget that beautiful smile she always had and the love she had for everyone,she could never be mad at anyone.I believe she is with Julie and Hazel,the boys and the baby girl Aalyiah.I know she is looking down on us all and will take care of us all.I LOVED HER VERY MUCH AND ALWAYS WILL.
