Ella Mae Sluder Jones, of Leicester, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 at Fleschers of Fairview HealthCare Center.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Annie Hawkins Sluder. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Alexander "Mont" Jones; a son, Robert Conrad Jones; three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Bell United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Betty Jones of Leicester; a brother, Bob Sluder of Candler; a sister, Lillian Dicus of Asheville; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bell United Methodist Church with the
Revs. John Clements and George M. Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

My condolences to all the family of Mrs Jones. She shared the room at health center with my grandmother Ida Edwards and it was always a pleasure to speak with Mrs Jones when visiting.
She was always very kind and enjoyed sitting by the window and talking about all the time she had spent doing her garden work.
