Ellen Israel Fisher

Ellen Cornelia Israel Fisher, 80, of 73 Edmonds Road, Weaverville, died Saturday, January 17, 2004, at Madison Manor Nursing Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Nellie Carver Israel and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Jean Rash. She was retired after 15 years of service at Mission Hospital as a CNA and was a member of Newfound Baptist Church. She adored her grandchildren and loved her cats and growing flowers. Mrs. Fisher is survived by two daughters, Carrol Rash of Clearwater, FL and Cathy Plemmons of Asheville; four sons, David Willis, Gilmer Rash and LeRoy Rash, all of Weaverville, and Martin Plemmons of Leicester; two sisters, Reva Angel of Leicester and Sue Miller of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Bob Israel of Leicester, Frank R. Israel of Michigan and Gay V. Israel of Leicester. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Newfound Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Ball, Albert Roberts and Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times will be at the home.
