Estelle Frye Goforth

Estelle Frye Goforth, 90, of 60 Ormond
Avenue, Asheville, formerly of Edgewood Road,
Candler, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998.
A native of Jefferson City, Tenn., she was the
daughter of the late Lovell H. and Rosa Knight
Frye and wife of the late Walter Goforth, who
died in 1991.  She was also preceded in death by
a son, Cecil G. Goforth in 1979 and four
brothers, Richard, Ken, Rudolph and Douglas
Frye.
She was a charter member of the Edgewood
Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School
Class.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Banks
of Asheville; three sons, Walter Allen Goforth of
Knoxville, Bruce Colon Goforth of Mills River and
Howard Douglas Goforth of Fairview; two sisters,
Mary Lail of Orlando, Fla., Marjorie Saye of
Arden; three brothers, Grodon Frye of
Weaverville, T.H. Frye and J.O. Frye, both of
Michigan; ten grandchildren; twenty great-
grandchildren and three great-great-
grandchildren.
Services will be 2 pm Friday in the Edgewood
Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Charles
A. Shelton and Enoch Ball, Jr.  Interment will be
in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour
prior to the service Friday at the church and at
other times will be at 60 Ormond Avenue.
