Ethel D. Robinson

Mrs. Robinson was born in the Sandy Mush section of Leicester and was a daughter of the late Rufus Alexander and Alice L. Gossett Duckett.  She was married to Eugene (Gene) Robinson, who died in 1971.

Mrs. Robinson was a sales person for Bon Marche Department Stores, both downtown Asheville and at Westgate Shopping Center.  She was a member of Bell United Methodist Chruch.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Duckett, and by sisters, Lottie Myrtle Reeves, Roberta Phoebe Brown, Blanche Merrill Hall, Sue Long Deweese, and Carrie Mae Jacobs.

She is survived by nieces, Betty LaRoche, Patricia L. Dobbs, Pauline Merrill Blackley, and Maythorne Brown Tucker;  nephews Jon Jacobs, Don Jacobs, and Gudger Merrill;  a brother-in-law, Keith Deweese;   and a sister-in-law, Ruth Robinson.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home Chapel on Patton Avenue with the Revs. Edna Riggs and Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Bell United Mwethodist Church Cemetery Fund.
