I was so sorry to hear that Mr. Patterson passed away. While it has been years since we talked, I certainly remember all those trips to Lake James where Mr. Patterson taught both Margo and I to water ski. I always enjoyed my visits with you all while growing up in Kenilworth. Please know that you both are in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. Genie and Mrs. Patterson,

I am so sorry to hear that Mr. Patterson passed away. My dad saw the obituary in the Asheville paper – he is there now visiting my grandmother and aunt. He would have liked to be at the service tomorrow, however, he has a previous commitment. I truly wish I could attend but send all my love to you both from PA. I remember all times I spent with you at Lake James on the houseboat, waterskiing and laughing a lot! They are great memories to have. I also have fond memories of the time spent in your Kenilworth home especially watching old slides. Please know that you both are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Mr. Patterson is finally home now and you will see him again someday. Love to you both!!

    Blessings and Love,
    Hunter Hannig and family

  9. Hi Trudy! I don’t know if you remember me but, I live on the other side of the lake. I first met Gene in about 1956 or 1957 while working at Kenilworth Esso. We remained friends for many years after that. Although our path had not crossed for the past few years I always considered you all as good friends. I was deeply sadden to read of Genes passing. He, as you know was a great person and a good friend to all he came into contact with with. All of us that had the privilege to know him will miss him greatly and are blessed for having known him…Harold ‘Butch’ Payne
