Gene will always have a special place in my heart. I really had a special fondness for his humor loving ‘Tom and Jerry’ cartoons and his thoughtfulness, but most of all inspiration to be like him a true professional. You have touched so many hearts with your generosity and caring ways, and I will always remember what a wonderful person you were in my life. I will love and miss you so much. May God bless you and keep you close to him.
So sorry for your loss Evelyn. But Gene is now healthy. Love you
I have many fond memories of my Uncle over the years. I will never forget his smile, hugs, and laugh. He was always so good with children even though he never had any of his own. I remember one Christmas in particular, in the year 1976. Uncle Gene made me the happiest girl ever when he gave me a beautifully illustrated book of champion gymnast Nadia Comaneci. She was my idol, and I still have that book. He also gave me an album with the song dedicated to Nadia’s still unbroken record of 7 perfect 10’s as the youngest athlete to ever attend the Olympics until that point. I was very touched that he knew so well what I would want. My children also remember Uncle Gene fondly. We will miss him. Aunt Evelyn, I will never forget the times I stayed with you and Uncle Gene. You are the most generous person I’ve ever known. Your love, devotion, and attention to my Uncle Gene are a testimony to that. Thank you for loving him all these years and taking care of him. I love you
The world was a better place because of his being here.
Evelyn and sister Sue…thinking of you both as you mourn the passing of your beloved ‘Gene’. The love, care and support you gave through the years is admirable. May this dedication give you peace and comfort. My memory of Gene is a ‘beautiful smiling face’ so carry that with you as you go forward.
God Bless,
