Faith Sneeden Davison, 86, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Saturday September 14, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 3, 1932 in Wilmington, NC to the late James and Gladys Sneeden. Faith was married to Rev. Frank Davison for 60 years and they had four daughters, Helen (Bart) Milleson, Carol (Freddy) Martin, Beth (Mary Beth McKee) Davison and Laura (Todd) Smith. Frank and Faith made their home in Lenoir, NC for 37 years before moving to Highland Farms retirement community in Black Mountain, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Alice Sneeden Smith, Mary Sneeden Hess, and brothers James Sneeden and Charles Sneeden. She is survived by sisters Rosa Sneeden Bailey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Grace Sneeden Lancaster of Winter Park, Florida; Grandchildren Jennifer (Adam) McGugan, Ryan (Meigan) Milleson, Rachel Martin, Ben Martin, Josh Martin and Ian Smith; Great-Grandchildren William and Samuel McGugan.

She has numerous nieces and nephews that remember her fondly for organizing family reunions.

Faith attended UNCW, High Point College, UNCG and Appalachian State University earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree as well as certification. In addition to raising her daughters, she worked as a Director of Christian Education, Director of a Preschool, taught at CCC&TI, and was a K-8 Guidance Counselor in the Caldwell County School System. She was a big believer in giving back to her community and participated in numerous volunteer endeavors including Habitat for Humanity in which the 100 th Habitat Home built in Lenoir, NC was dedicated in her honor.

Always an advocate for children, Faith lent her expertise and volunteered in the Guardian Ad Litem program. She also served as an Elder in her home church in Lenoir and was active in many other committees and womens’ groups.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Faith will be held on Sunday Sept. 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in King, NC. Rev. Dr. Bart W. Milleson and her four daughters will be participating in the service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Highland Farms for their care. Faith’s body was donated to Genesis Program (for medical science).
