Faye Duckett Taylor, 84, of Candler, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center following a period of declining health.
She was one of two daughters of the late V. Burgin and Lucy Worley Duckett of Big Sandy Mush and was also preceded in death by a brother, John W. Duckett who died in 1995. A graduate of Asheville Normal Teachers College, she was retired from Sand Hill Primary in the Buncombe County School System. She was a member of Acton United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 62 years, Vernon R. Taylor; two sons, Terry Taylor of Asheville and Randy Taylor and wife Brenda of Candler; two grandsons, Thomas Taylor and Alex Taylor of Candler; a sister, Grace Greene of Asheville; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:30 am Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Paul Hacklander officiating. Private family interment will follow at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times will be at 42 Greene Knoll Drive.
