Flonnie S. Bailey

Mrs. Bailey was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late G.D. Smith, Sr. and Della Taylor Smith and step-daughter of the late Cora Penley Smith. She was married to John Harvey Bailey who died in 1986. Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and enjoyed extending hospitality to many friends and family who visited in her home. She was also retired from the Biltmore Company.

She is survived by two sons, Lewis Bailey and his wife Doris and John Harold Bailey and his wife Shirley of Asheville; three sisters, Athalene Owenby and Cora Myrtle Creasman of Asheville and Lois Arrowood of Fairview; a brother, G.D. Smith, Jr. of Fairview; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Emile Wolfaardt and G.H. Shope officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
