Florence Jean Lane, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2019.

A native of Morganton, NC, Florence was a daughter of the late Edward and Flosta Crisp Lane. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Olivia Blair, and Don and Edward Lane.

Florence always reflected fondly upon her time as a member of the Jaycees while she lived in Tennessee. She loved spending her spare time reading her Bible.

She is survived by her son, Mark Cain; daughter, Linda Raper (Ricky); sister, Naomi Ross (Vincent); granddaughters, Amber Garland and Ericca Garland; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Reagan, Braxton, Maddyx, Jaxxsyn, Alijah, and Adriana.

The graveside service for Ms. Lane will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Pastor Sonia Huntley Burleson, Victory Fellowship Worship Center, will officiate.

Florence will lie in state at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. until noon on Tuesday for those who wish to view and pay their respects.

I know God because of you! And hope to one day make you proud of me by knowing the Bible as well as you! Sing those Heavenly hymns to our Father and dance like you’ve never danced before , in your renewed body! Awww how I long to see you again!!!
