Florence N. Hice

Born in Cosville, VA, she later moved to North Carolina at the age of fourteen. She was the daughter of the late Johnny and Carrie Norvell and was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hice, in 1975, and by four sisters and five brothers.
Mrs. Hice was a former employee of American Enka and was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church and the Snow Hill United Methodist Women.
She is survived by two daughters, Alberta White and Carolyn Elingburg and her husband Ken, all of Candler; five grandchildren, Janet Wills and her husband Phil of Roswell, GA, Steve White and his wife Wanda and Scott White and his wife Tanya, all of Candler, Karen Rogers and her husband Dave of Concord, and James Cole Holbrook of Boone; five great-grandchildren, Keaton, Scottie and Olivia White and Hunter and Catherine Rogers; her caregiver of five years, Thelma Stewart; one sister, Vivian McMahan of Abilene, TX and one brother, James Norvell of Candler.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 27, at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Neil Haynes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and Dave Rogers and Phil Wills.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Flowers will be accepted and appreciated or memorials may be made to Snow Hill United Methodist Church, 84 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
