Floyd Burton “Brownie” Brown, Jr., 79, of 10 Winston Avenue, Asheville, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at his home. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Floyd B. Brown, Sr. and Thelma Roberts Brown. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he was associated with AAA Auto Parts and Gate City Auto Parts of Biltmore and attended Oteen Baptist Church. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Lucille Ann Woody Brown; three daughters, Sheila Carter of Birmingham, AL, Deborah Snyder of Salisbury and Renee Brown of Asheville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday at Oteen Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard Kinsland, Gayle Brown, Ron Brown and Bill Woody officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church.
