Frances Clement Shaft

Frances Lorraine Clement Shaft, 86, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at CarePartners Solace.

Mrs. Shaft was born June 11, 1935, in Asheville, to the late William Harley and Blanche Williams Clement. She was married for 55 years to Gary W. Shaft, Sr., who died in 2007.

She enjoyed the outdoors and camping, but especially loved children and spent her career caring for them at her day care.

Her family includes her daughter, Deborah S. Penland (James); son, Gary W. Shaft, Jr. (Edith); sister, Dolores Thomas (Rick); brother, William Clement; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Ronald Dotson at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Green Hills Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
