Freda Jeanette Allen, 79, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Lillie Louise Jones Yount. She is preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Ray Allen.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Allen of Leicester and McKinley Allen of Asheville.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Rev. Don Penland will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.

Your parents have gone as mine have also.
I never met them but know they did a good job raising you. Both of you are fine men and should be proud of the commitment they must have had to family, country and God.
