Frederick Henry Cudd

Mr. Cudd, 79, of Barnardsville, formerly of Statesville, passed away, May 2, 2007 at home. Born on March 8, 1928 in Buncombe Co., NC, he was the son of the late John Beard and Annis Leona White Cudd. Mr. Cudd was also preceded in death by his sister Donnie Cudd Winders, and daughter-in-law Martha Fox Cudd. Mr. Cudd served with the US Army during the occupation of Germany. He retired from Mills Manufacturing in Asheville after more than 35 years of management service. Mr. Cudd was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Vickers Cudd. He is survived by his wife, Angela Gentry Cudd, of the home; sons, Frederick Eugene Cudd of Asheville, Charles Wayne Cudd and his wife, Susan Floyd-Cudd of Charlotte; brother, Dock William Cudd and his wife Opal of Barnardsville; and several much loved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, 6-8:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave., Asheville and Saturday, 10-11:00 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, Stony Point, NC. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville, NC conducted by the Reverend Mandy Parker.
