Gale Helms Raymer, 60, of 62 Harnot Circle, Asheville, died Friday, January 13, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital.
A native of Matthews, NC, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus E. and Janie Stillwell Helms. She was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Edward Dale Helms and a sister, Geraldine Christenbury.
Survivors include her husband, Harry F. Raymer, Jr., to whom she was happily married for 38 years; two sons, Hank F. Raymer and David A. Raymer and his wife Kelli; grandchildren, Eli and Maddy Raymer, all of Asheville; sisters, Maxine H. Raymer, Carolyn H. Pell, Cornelia H. Hahn and brother-in-law, Roy Christenbury, all of Charlotte.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Larry M. Collins offciating.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to Cancer of WNC, 445 Biltmore Avenue, Suite 100, Asheville, NC 28801.

Shirley and I are sorry to learn of Gale’s passing. We pray especially for the family, that God will comfort them in this there time of need. We also pray for Gale’s friends that they keep her family in their prayers, not just this week but in the weeks and months to come. The Prayers of many works wonders in healing the hearts of those that have lost a loved one.

Our sympathy to this family. Gale was an aunt to our daughter-in-law and the sister of our friend, Carolyn. May God spread His comfort over them and with His loving arms enfold them.

We would like to express our sympathy to the entire family. We were neighbors for 21 years and Gale was a great person and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Our prayers and thoughts are with each of you during this difficult time.
David, Kelli, and family, My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I didn’t know Gail personally but I do remember working with her at the Baptist home and she would always say hello in the halls when she passed and always with a smile. God Bless You.
