Aunt Geneva was the sister of my grandmother, Fannie Stevens. Those in our family thought she was a very special, sweet and kind lady. The Early reunions won’t be the same without her. She will be greatly missed! Our condolences to all her family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Julia, Everette, and family,
We were sorry to read of the death of Julia’s mother. She was a highly respected lady and a faithful Christian. We remember that our first encounter with her was when she was with the Civil Service Board and Don was 1-A! Later we enjoyed many years of knowing her and Marshall at Calvary Baptist. Our sympathies are with you as we realize how much you will miss her.
Dear Julia, Evertte, and Stephanie,
While I did not know your Mother and Grandmother – I did know you three and heard so many wonderful things about Geneva Fox. Know we are thinking about your loss of this wonderful lady. My Mother lived almost to be 98 and I could relate to her life. Please accept our sadness on your loss. Love – Shirley and Gene
Aunt Geneva was a dear sister of my mother, Fannie Early Stevens. She was always a caring and interested aunt to me while I was growing up in McDowell County. After I moved to Charlotte, we met for lunch downtown. Relaxing in the lobby of The Selwyn Hotel, she leaned over and advised me to ‘hitch your wagon to a star.’ Unforgettable words from a beautiful lady. My wife Enid and I will miss her in a very personal way. She will be especially missed at the Early reunions where she was the matriarch.
As a fellow member of Calvary Baptist Church I have known Geneva for a long time and am truely sorry to read this in the paper and send my condolences to her family.
Marsha and Family,

She really was quite a lady and will be missed. We enjoyed getting together with you and visiting your family again. You have a beautiful family. Enjoy them as one generation replaces another one.
