Genevieve Sluder

Genevieve Lamb Turner Sluder, 80, of 1162 Bear Creek Road, Leicester, died Thursday, December 2, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Sluder was born in Henderson County and was a daughter of the late Hunter and Margaret Howell Lamb. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James C. Turner who died in 1979; a daughter, Linda Pruitt Carre who died in 2000, and a son who died in infancy, Carl Turner. Mrs. Sluder worked in retail sales for many years with W.T. Grant Co. and more recently with Roses Department Store. She was a member of Newfound Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Ray D. Sluder; one daughter, Sherry Dorato Sanford and her husband Dave of Asheville; two sons, Glen Turner of Fresno, CA and Lloyd Turner and his wife Pat of Trinidad, TX; grandchildren Michelle Studstill, Jennifer Pruitt, Lesley Litaker, Chad Dorato, Denise, Teresa and Donna Turner, Dale Turner and Kelly Vandresar; several great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
