George H. Rhodes, Jr., 62, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 8, 2010, in Asheville. George was a graduate of Kirtland High School, Kirtland, Ohio, Class of 1965, served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969 and was employed as a firefighter for the city of Mentor, Ohio from 1973 to 1993. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, loved by all, and is survived by his wife, Martha Gibbins Rhodes; sons, Dusty Rhodes and wife, Ginger, Jason Rhodes and wife, Katie; step-daughters, Carolyn Perkins and husband, Brook, Alice Randles and husband, Brian, Helen Shearin and husband, Matt, and Samantha Rhodes. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jacob, Kristin, Joey, Ava, Mary, Grace and Jason Rhodes, Jr., Myla and Lilly Rhodes, Joshua Perkins, Anna and Caleb Randles and Emma and William Shearin. Family and friends are asked to join in a Celebration of Life from noon to 4:00 pm, Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Geneva V.F.W. in Geneva, Ohio.
