GEORGIA RUTH ROBERTS
Georgia Ruth Roberts, died
Monday, April 12, 2004, in
Birmingham, Alabama.
Miss Roberts was a native
of Leicester but spent most of her
adult life in Birmingham. She was a
daughter of the late Moody and Dora
Alexander Roberts.
She was a graduate of
Berea College and retired from
American Cast Iron Pipe Company
where she recently served on the
Centennial Celebration Planning
Committee for ACIPCO. She was a
member of Highlands United
Methodist Church where she served
in the Community Ministry for the
homeless, on the Altar Guild, and the
United Methodist Women. She
worked with the Friends of Vestavia
Hills Library and was a member of the
Birmingham Music Club Guild.
Surviving are her sisters,
Mildred Cole and her husband Morris
of Leicester and Catherine Plemmons
and her husband T.H. of Candler; her
special friend and caregiver, Bobbie
Caldwell; several nieces and
nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be
at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Episcopal
Cemetery in Leicester.
In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests that memorials be made to
the Highlands United Methodist
Church, 1045 20th Street South,
Birmingham, AL 35205, or to one’s
favorite charity.
Groce Funeral Home on
Patton Avenue is in charge of the
local arrangements.

Dear Mildred and Dot, So sorry to hear about Georgia Ruth (Toot), and we send you our love and sympathy. Georgia Ruth was always so smart and quiet. She has been gone for a long time but now she is home and in His Prescence we know.
