Georgiy Gavrilovich Ivanchenkov, age 75, of Asheville, died Sunday, September 13, 2015.
Born May 10, 1940 in Novokuznetsk, Russia, he was a son of the late Gavriil Ivanchenkov and Yevodokiya Sorokina. He was also preceded in death by brothers Aleksey, Vasiliy, and Viktor Ivanchenkov.
Mr. Ivanchenkov is survived by his wife, Nadezhda Voyevodskaya; daughters, Inna Yocum and husband Jason of Asheville, and Yelena Pilipenko and husband Dmitriy of Harrisonburg, VA; son, Sergey Ivanchenkov and wife Marina of Jacksonville, FL; granchildren, Julia Pilipenko, Eliza Pilipenko, and Angela Ivanchenkov; and brothers Nikolay Ivanchenkov of Russia, and Konstantin Ivanchenkov of Asheville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

We are sorry to hear of your loss. George was a dear man that we respected greatly. May God’s comfort and peace be with each one. We have good memories of him as we think of the times of worship at Merrimon Avenue Church and the days he worked so hard helping us in our yard.
