Glenna Suddreth McCoy, 76, of Leicester, died on Monday, September 28, 2015, at her residence. Born at Camp Laurel in the Upper Hominy Township of Buncombe Co., Mrs. McCoy was a daughter of the late Burley Azor and Mamie Setzer Suddreth. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty years, Mack Edward McCoy, who died on January 4, 2015; sisters, Annie O'Kelley, Alma Lindsey, Helen Black, Mabel Reynolds, and Onnie O'Kelly; and brothers, B.A. and Lane Suddreth. One of Mrs. McCoy's greatest passions was tending to her garden and taking care of her flowers. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. McCoy is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Gregg and husband Dail; sons, David McCoy and wife Dawn, and Joseph McCoy and wife Wanda; brother, Wayne Suddreth; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Mrs. McCoy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
