Grace D. Porterfield

Grace D. Porterfield, 81, of the Vanderbilt Apartments, Asheville, died Monday, March 15, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.

Mrs. Porterfield was born in Madison County, GA was a daughter of the late Horace and Sally Stallings Duffell and was married to the late Horace Homer Porterfield, who died in 1978. She was a former resident of Athens, GA and Morganton, NC and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Asheville.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, GA, with the Rev. Gail Coulter officiating.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
