Gladys J. “Happy” McRary, 80, formerly of Asheville, died Monday, August 30, 1999, at her home in Port Orange, FL.
Mrs. McRary was born in Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Johnson, and was married to the late John W. McRary. She was a charter member
of Groce United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, John W. McRary of Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Jane J. Dotson of Fairview and
Elizabeth J. “Lib”Liverett of Fletcher; and a brother, Frank A. “Bud” Johnson of Asheville.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm Thursday, September 16, at Groce United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alexander Ward officiating.
Private interment will be at Shepherd Memorial Park.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
