Harold Christ Ketner

Mr. Ketner was born in Haywood County and was a son of the late Walter D. and Mary Shelton Ketner. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kent (Bub) Ketner. He retired in 1995 from Crown Cork and Seal and he attended Cedar Mountain Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife, Marie King Ketner; three step-sons, Rick Newman of Asheville and Randy and Darryl Newman of Fairview; one step-daughter, Sona Newman of Fairview; one brother Dale Ketner and his wife, Wayco of Waynesville; his nieces Linda Evans, Jean Smith and Jane Vaughn; and by distant children, Mike, James, Debra and Tommy.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Jim Page. Burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
