Harry Martin Silvers, 75, of Candler, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Mission Hospitals after a brief illness. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Luther H. and Iva Presnell Silvers. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mattie Buckner Silvers, who died in 2000 and by five siblings. A US Army veteran, he retired from Milkco, Inc., following 37 years of service. He was a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church. Mr. Silvers is survived by his daughters, Donna S. Frazee and husband Darrel, of Candler, and Linda S. Puckett and husband Bill, also of Candler; and granddaughter, Courtney E. Puckett, of Candler. His family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. There will be a private burial on Monday at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery.   2. Just a note to the family.Your Dad,was such a blessing to me, while at CarePartners. He always had a smile for me, even though he was going through a trying time. I feel, blessed that i had a chance to meet such a wonderful person.And care for him. I feel sure that you Dad is with Jesus now, he and i talked about the Lord a little.He was so proud of his family..My prayers will be with you,i will also put you and your family on our prayer list at church..Thank You, for calling Thoms.(hosp)to let me know.Remember,he is only gone from your sight.But he will remain in your heart.
