Harry Victor Sitton

Harry Victor Sitton, 91, of 310 Asbury Road, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at his home. A native of Henderson County, he lived most of his life in Buncombe County. He was a son of the late Bert Judson and Betty McCrary Sitton. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Harry Arnold Sitton and James Melvin Sitton. He was a former employee of American Enka Corporation with 38 years of service and was a member of the Pioneer Club and West Asheville Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Maxine Greene Sitton; a son Jerry Edward Sitton of Asheville; three brothers, Bert Sitton Jr. of Hendersonville, Thomas Sitton of Lakeland, FL, obert Sitton of Homestead, MD; a sister, Pauline Harrell of Morganton, NC; three grandchildren, Jerry Sitton Jr., Victor Sitton, Natalie Thomas; one step-grandson, Marc Emond and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Revs. Ken Lewis and Vernon Troutman will officiate with burial following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
