Hazel Allen Medford

Hazel Allen Medford, 80, of 195 Curtis Creek Road, Candler, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Medford was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Minard and Lena Cordell Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Medford who died in 1992, and by two grandsons, R. Randy Medford and William G. Fletcher. She was retired from American Enka Corporation and was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Alice Lawson and her husband Ken of Asheville; two sons, Thom Medford and his wife Marsha of Asheville and Mark Medford and his wife Debbie of Candler; four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Thursday at in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Lewis officiating. Graveside rites will be at 3:30 pm Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Butch Stillwell officiating.
