Hazel Gray Tilson

Hazel Gray Tilson, 91, of the Haw Creek Community, Asheville, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of McDowell Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Bessie Huntley Gray. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Clyde W. Tilson, who died in 2003; and by her son, Clyde W. Tilson, Jr. Mrs. Tilson was a graduate of Blanton�s Business College, and worked at Electrolux and at Miller Printing Co. She was an active member of the Haw Creek PTA, and was a charter member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She is survived by her son, Ray Tilson of Asheville; sister, Juanita Goodman of Nebo; and brother, Zane Andrew Gray of Richmond, VA. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. William D. King and Randy Melton officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
