Heather Leigh Longley, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

An Asheville native, she was the daughter of Thomas Lee Harris and Martha Helen Rader Sheppard and John Edward Sheppard.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael Stephen Longley; daughter, Hannah Longley; sons, Maxwell Longley and Lucas Longley; granddaughter, Hazel; sister, Kelly Strachan (Tom); brothers, Matthew Harris, Jason Harris, and Justin Sheppard (Ashley); and her beloved dog, Charlie.

A graveside will be held Friday June 13 at 1:00pm at Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
