Heather Leigh Longley, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

An Asheville native, she was the daughter of Thomas Lee Harris and Martha Helen Rader Sheppard and John Edward Sheppard.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael Stephen Longley; daughter, Hannah Longley; sons, Maxwell Longley and Lucas Longley; granddaughter, Hazel; sister, Kelly Strachan (Tom); brothers, Matthew Harris, Jason Harris, and Justin Sheppard (Ashley); and her beloved dog, Charlie.

A graveside will be held Friday June 13 at 1:00pm at Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.

  4. Heather was such a precious sister in love. The time we spent together was so special. We was always laughing. No matter what we were talking about . We didn’t talk every day, but I knew she was always there. We will miss her and love her always. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family’s.🙏🏻🥰❤️😇

    My heart is broken for you and the family. Heather was such a beautiful person! She was always a delight to be around and was always laughing! She had a kind heart! She will be missed so much! I have been praying for you Martha and your sons Jason and Matt and the whole family. I will continue to pray for you and I’m so sorry for your loss.
