Helen Bridges Jackson

Helen B. Jackson Leicester - Helen Bridges Jackson, 96, of 118 Old NC 63, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at her home. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Nanny Knight Bridges. She was married to William Ross Jackson, who died in 1996, and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gerry Sampson, and a grandson, Brian Sampson. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Newfound Baptist Church and was retired from Square D. She is survived by her son, David R. Jackson and wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Daryl Sampson and wife, Cynthia, Clint Jackson and wife, Kayla, and Cody Jackson and wife, Tonia; and a great-granddaughter, Abby Sampson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Phillips and Ray Hipps officiating. Burial will follow at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
