Henry E. Stewart, 88, of Asheville, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Courtyard Nursing Home.
He is survived by his sisters, Katherine Miller, Elizabeth Stewart, Florence Yarbrough and Patricia Buckner, and brothers, Charles Stewart and James Stewart.
Graveside rites will be conducted by the Rev. Don Penland at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

SORRY TO HEAR OF HENRY’S PASSING.HAVE A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES OF TIME SPENT UP ON THE MOUNTAIN WITH HIM, JIM, AND ARNOLD. GONE ARE THE GOOD TIMES AS WELL AS THE PEOPLE, BUT NOT THE MEMORIES. A GREAT MAN IN HIS OWN WAY. BILL
Liz and family, I am sorry to hear of Henry’s passing. The last time I remember him is when I brought Jenny up to the mountain for a visit back in the 80’s. We both enjoyed the day very much.
