Hilda Morgan Robinson, 86, of Candler, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Beystone Health Care Center. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Fred and Edna Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon Robinson, and sisters, Ruth Morgan and Ruby Sams. Mrs. Robinson had worked at Three Mountaineers, Enka High School, and American Enka. Nanny was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She liked to garden, can food, sew, quilt, read her Bible, and listen to gospel music. She was a lifelong member of White Rock Baptist Church. Nanny was loved and will be greatly missed by her children, Spurgeon Robinson, Jr., and wife Gay, Joe Robinson and wife Mitzie, and Aretha Hill, all of Candler; grandchildren, Janine Anderson and husband Brian, of Candler, Lee Hill, of Greensboro, Karen Scott and husband Brandon, of Hickory; step-grandchildren, Leiza Liner and Brent Rhinehart; great-grandchildren, Janson and Briana Anderson; sister, Helen Jackson, of Simpsonville, SC; and brother, Frank Morgan and wife Minnie, of Candler. Services for Mrs. Robinson will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at White Rock Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Oliver and Brad Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials for Mrs. Robinson can be made to the cemetery fund of White Rock Baptist Church, 91 Medford Branch Rd., Candler, NC 28715.

    I am so sorry to hear of your grandmother passing. She was such a Sweet and Wonderful Woman. I remember playing in her yard when we were kids. God called one of his Angels home and I pray that he will guide and help you all through this most difficult time. If you need anything please just let me know. May God Bless you all.
