Arden ~ Hildegard Butler, 79, passed away, Friday, March 30, 2012 at Highland Farms in Black Mountain.
Mrs. Butler was born October 5, 1932 in Essen, Germany to the late Aloysius and Berten Amberg Hohmann and was the youngest of six children.
Hildegard worked in the insurance industry between 1972 and 1996 in California and North Carolina. After moving to North Carolina she became involved in numerous charity groups such as Project Linus, Meals-on-Wheels and especially Manna Food Bank. Her many friends will treasure the times they were able to enjoy her loving, caring companionship.
Mrs. Butler is survived by nieces who are living in Germany.
No local services are planned and Hildegard will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica, CA beside her husband, Thomas V. Butler who preceded her in death in 1981.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Manna Food Bank, 627 Swannanoa River Road Asheville, NC 28805.

I met Hildegard in Santa Monica when we worked for the same insurance company. We both moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when the company moved there in 1992. For the following eight years, Hildegard and I used to go out every Saturday to shop and then have lunch. We had so many wonderful memories and laughs together. She was a great friend. I will miss her.
