Howard W. Sitton, III, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013, in the Simonds Healthcare Center at the Deerfield Retirement Community.
Mr. Sitton was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Howard W. Sitton, Jr., and Thelma Louise Becker Sitton. He is survived by his wife, Joan Sitton; a sister, Mary Sue Cave, and a nephew, Joseph Cave, both of Northern California.
Howard worked in the aerospace industry, writing proposals and negotiating contracts for military and space projects after earning his BA degree in history at UC Fullerton in California. The Civil War and in the history of the South were his main topics of interest, and he enjoyed playing jazz piano in his free time. Howard was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Arden.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in the Arden Plaza with Fr. William Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, P. O. Box 1321, Arden, NC 28704.
