Hoyt Marion Holland of 590 Fairview Road passed away August 22nd 2010 at Beystone nursing home. He was born February 26, 1933, in Hazelton, Pa. His parents, the late Lecie and Beulon Holland, relocated and retired in Franklin, NC. He was a truck driver for Youngblood and retired from ABF in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Nonie Holland, who lived their wedding vows through sickness and in health by faithfully caring for him through his life and injury; his two children Terry Holland his wife Martha, Annette Holland Lanning; his grandchildren Terry Holland Jr. and his wife, Leigh , Clint Lanning and his girlfriend Melissa Menard, Tyler Holland, and Leacie Holland; a great granddaughter, Abigail Holland; sisters Carolyn H. Hartsell and Ruth H. Jones; brother Scott Holland and a special cousin Ann Price, and many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. Hoyt became a quadriplegic in 2008 after fracturing his neck in an accident. Beystone nursing home became a home to him for the last two years of his life. His beautiful smile never left him and he had so much courage. He was an avid NASCAR fan and pulled for the Jack Rousch Fords. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lake Julian Chapel of Groce Funeral Home, 72 Long Shoals Road, with the Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Interment will follow at Avery's Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Allen, Scott Holland, Robbie Hartsell, Terry Holland Jr., Clint Lanning and Tyler Holland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times they will be at 343 White Pine Drive in Fletcher. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Beystone, the prayers and visits from so many of Hoyt's friends and a special thank you to his fellow truckers and Teamsters.

    I just wanted to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Mom just told me this morning about Hoyt’s passing. Mom and Dad were blessed to have Hoyt and Nona as their neighbors for all these years. Terry and Annette we had alot of fun growing up together on Glendale. We love you guys and will continue to pray for your family. We know how it is to lose someone so close to you (my brother Normie) and you guys were there for us in his passing so please if we can do anything at all for you please just let us know.
